Olive Leaf Extract:

Olive leaf extract is a powerful agent which detoxifies the body naturally while at the same time, improving the digestion process. It is an effective cleanser that you can consume, either by taking capsules or in liquid form. There are so many health benefits associated with it. It is also considered as a healer that eliminates worms and viruses and provides long term general health benefits.

Poor digestion is one of the main causes of Rosacea and that is where olive leaf extract can be useful. It cleans out toxins from your body and thus helps the skin to get back its glow.

Chamomile Compress

This is another great home cure for Rosacea that you can use. Chamomile tea is rich with all necessary anti inflammatory properties that efficiently deals with itchiness, red bumps, and acne problems. Being a rich source of flavonoids and terpenoids, it also gives your face a soothing sensation. To avail its benefits, you need to soak at least 3-5 chamomile tea bags in boiling water for at least 10 minutes. Remove the bags and then place this herbal tea in the refrigerator to cool down. When it is cold, grab a cloth and dip it in the solution and apply it on your face. You will experience a nice soothing sensation and the redness from your face will vanish.

Green Tea

Green tea is not only good for weight loss, but it also has some effective anti-oxidant, anti-carcinogenic and anti-inflammatory properties which is bad news for Rosacea and good news for you. You can drink it or use it as a cold compress in the same way as Chamomile. You can even buy face creams with this as the main ingredient. It calms the skin and aids in preventing papules and pustules from developing.

Here’s another popular home cure for Rosacea. Oatmeal is rich with anti oxidant properties that reduce inflammation, itchiness and redness as well. The best way to use oatmeal, is to mix one and a half cups of powdered oatmeal with water in a large bowl, then apply the mixture to the affected area. Make sure you just pat it on skin and don’t rub it. Leave it for 20 minutes and then clean it off, you will see its positive effects in few days.

Licorice is another popular natural remedy that comes with some powerful anti-inflammatory properties. It also aids in the creation of healthy skin cells and eradicates the problem of skin irritation. Just mix one tablespoon of licorice powder with honey and aloe vera gel. Apply the mixture on the affected area. You will notice its soothing effects. After you’re done, wash it off using lukewarm water.

Other Home Cures for Rosacea

We have devoted a whole section of this site to natural remedies for rosacea, where we explore a number of other interesting and effective natural treatments. These include essential oils, herbal remedies, homeopathic cures and apple cider vinegar. But here’s the important part – none of these cures will be truly effective if you don’t look after yourself. You need to be aware of what you eat and drink and take note of anything that triggers your rosacea symptoms. For example, the one that sets my rosacea off, is red wine, so I avoid it as much as possible. I can drink scotch in moderation without any consequences, but not red wine.

For you, it might be something else.

Many people often mistake rosacea for an allergic reaction, but if it is diagnosed correctly, you can manage it without wasting time on remedies that don’t work. If your symptoms are severe, you may wish to consider other medical solutions such as antibiotics, at least initially. After that, your best course in my opinion, is to pursue effective home cures for rosacea, because these will provide the most lasting results.
